What are you going to do?
With your energy, anything is possible
Work on the energy transition – and on yourself
Are you an ambitious starter with a passion for cybersecurity and societal impact? Do you want not only to build your career, but also contribute to one of the biggest challenges of our time: the energy transition? Then this is your opportunity.
As a Young Professional at Enexis, you will be at the heart of the action from day one. You’ll work on current security challenges while also participating in an intensive development program. This way, you’ll not only build in-depth technical knowledge, but also grow rapidly on a personal level.
The energy sector is changing at lightning speed. Digitalization, sustainability, and security come together in complex challenges. What works today may already be outdated tomorrow. That’s why we are looking for talent that is curious, takes initiative, and wants to move forward. At Enexis, you make the difference—your energy matters.
Your start at Enexis
As a Junior BPA Engineer, you’ll join one of our value chain teams in Den Bosch after completing an extensive training program. These teams develop and manage digital process flows using our Process Automation Platform in a modern IT environment. Together, you’ll ensure processes are automated intelligently and efficiently, enabling the organization to deliver value faster and better.
At the same time, you’ll participate in the Young Professional Program—a 9-month learning journey focused on personal development. You’ll attend training sessions on topics like CI/CD, TypeScript, MongoDB, stakeholder management, communication, networking, and self-awareness. You’ll gain a broad understanding of the organization and lay a solid foundation for your career at Enexis. In addition, you can follow a personalized development plan with role-specific training to help you grow into your position.
This is what your first year looks like:
- You will work 40 hours per week on substantive projects within your role.
- You will participate in the Young Professional Program together with a group of other juniors from different parts of the organization.
- You will take part in joint sessions, peer reviews, inspirational trainings, and informal activities.
- You will be guided by experienced colleagues from your team and the Young Talent Team coordinators.
Job requirements
How you approach it
After comprehensive training on our Process Automation Platform (based on Flowable open-source software), you’ll actively define and implement new functionalities, products, technical strategies, development standards, and configurations. Your contribution will be key to the team’s success!
Our Flowable/BPA Young Professional training plan ensures you’re well-prepared for this role. Alongside specialized training within your department, you’ll join personal development sessions during your first six months, together with other Young Professionals. This unique combination of technical skills and personal growth gives you the opportunity to develop professionally while expanding your network and understanding the organization. It’s the ultimate kickstart for your career at Enexis!
Your Responsibilities
- Support both the platform team and the value chain team in daily tasks, while taking ownership of independent assignments.
- Organize, prioritize, and execute tasks autonomously.
- Engage actively in the Young Professional training program.
- Participate in BPA community events and share knowledge to drive continuous improvement.
Team & culture
You take on challenges with ...
You will start in the Security Operations Center (SOC) in Weert, a close-knit team of approximately 10 cybersecurity professionals. This team is part of the Digital Resilience Center (DRC), where we are building a modern, future-proof cybersecurity environment.
Our goal? A next-generation, tier-less SOC where automation, smart detection, and continuous improvement are central. No traditional silos, but an environment where you are broadly trained and can grow quickly.

- Detection engineering – developing and improving detection rules
- Threat hunting – proactively searching for threats
- Incident response – responding quickly and effectively to security incidents
You will dive straight into the world of cyber defense. You’ll analyze alerts, support real incidents, and learn how cyberattacks impact both IT and OT environments. At the same time, you will actively contribute ideas on how to make detections smarter and more efficient, and take your first steps toward automation.
Your development: Young Professional Program
In addition to your role, you will participate in the Young Professional Program: an intensive 9-month trajectory focused on your personal growth.
What to expect:
- Training sessions in communication, stakeholder management, and personal effectiveness
- Peer group sessions and coaching moments
- Inspiration sessions and networking activities
- Learning and growing together with other Young Professionals
You will also work on a personal development plan, defining both technical and personal goals. You’ll have the space to discover and deepen your own direction within cybersecurity, supported by experienced specialists.
Your first year
- Actively contribute within the SOC and learn on the job
- Follow the Young Professional Program
- Participate in knowledge sessions, peer reviews, and social activities
- Receive intensive guidance from colleagues and the Young Talent team

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: able to recognize patterns, make connections, and think in a structured way when analyzing incidents
- A curious mindset and intrinsic motivation to understand how systems work and how vulnerabilities and attacks occur
- A proactive attitude: you take initiative, ask questions, and actively look for ways to improve yourself and processes
